Introduction
Europe is a great place for RV camping, with hundreds of campgrounds to choose from. From the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean and everything in between, there are lots of options for RVs to get out and explore. Here are some of our favorite places to stay when we’re on the road.
Camping Les Vignes, France
Camping Les Vignes is a great place to go for those who have a passion for wine. The grounds are situated in the heart of the vineyard region of Bordeaux, which is known for its world-renowned vintages. Here’s what you need to know:
- Location: This campground is located in the city of Saint-Émilion, France. It takes about a half hour from Bordeaux International Airport and about one hour from Toulouse-Blagnac International Airport. You can also reach it via train or bus—it’s just over an hour away from both Toulouse and Bordeaux by train and two hours away by bus.
- Amenities: Camping Les Vignes offers electricity at each site as well as WiFi access throughout its grounds (no password required). They also provide laundry facilities and showers with hot water at your disposal 24/7; however, there aren’t any showers specifically designated for women or men like some other European RV parks might offer you—you’ll just need to walk around until you find the right stall! In addition to this level of convenience, they offer two pools (one heated), two playgrounds with swing sets and slides that are perfect for children under 10 years old; five tennis courts; volleyball nets; table tennis tables; horseshoes pits; three ping pong tables (two indoors); badminton equipment stored in lockers near each court area so you don’t have to bring your own set); even bocce ball courts! You’ll never get bored here with all these activities available at your fingertips!
South Hams, Devon
The South Hams is a popular place for camping and tourists. It’s known for its beaches and surfing, plus it’s just a short drive from Plymouth. You can visit the South Hams in the summer when temperatures are warm, or even in late fall when you can enjoy the cool weather while taking in some of the area’s sights.
La Garangeoire, France
La Garangeoire is a campground close to the beach, in a rural setting. This makes it especially good for families with children, who will love being able to run around outside while their parents relax and enjoy the peace of nature. The campground is also surrounded by forests, so you can explore them on foot or on bike (when you’re not relaxing). If you want more action than what the countryside has to offer, La Garangeoire is only 15 minutes away from Saint-Malo – a popular tourist destination where you can go shopping and eat at restaurants.
The campground itself has a large swimming pool, and there are plenty of activities for children. There is also a small lake where you can go fishing. For nature lovers, there are many things to do in the area: hiking trails, mountain biking trails, and canoeing on nearby lakes.
International Camping Village Fabulous, Italy
International Camping Village Fabulous is located in the Italian Alps. It’s a great place to camp if you want to be close to several major cities and have plenty of recreational activities available. The campground has a swimming pool, tennis courts, restaurant, bar and train station nearby. Verona is only ten minutes away via train or car and there are many things to do there as well: take a tour of the city; go on an opera night tour; see Romeo & Juliet’s balcony at Juliette’s house; visit Castelvecchio Castle; watch street performers along Piazza Bra (a cobblestoned square with cafes and shops); eat gelato at Gelateria San Zeno di Montagna (a shop that has been making ice cream since 1900); hike up Mount Baldo for gorgeous views of Lake Garda below!
The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Wales
The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is a beautiful place to camp. It’s located in Wales and has a variety of campsites for you to choose from. The park is popular with families, so there are lots of activities for kids, from playing on the beach to fossil hunting.
The park also has an eco-friendly attitude; it offers recycling bins at every facility on site, including toilets and showers (more on that later). In addition to being environmentally conscious, they have taken steps towards reducing noise pollution in their area—noise levels have been lowered by 20 decibels since 2005!
